SAM ENIKIAS MAGOMBEDZE
Sam has been a Non-Executive Chairman of the Board since May 2004 and over the years provided valuable leadership and guidance to the business. His vast business experience has immensely benefitted the company. Sam is the former Commercial Director of Tanganda Tea Company (Pvt) Ltd, a subsidiary of Meikles Africa (Pvt) Ltd, and the largest manufacturer and exporter of tea in Zimbabwe. He has extensive experience in the public, manufacturing and mining sectors having worked for several companies at senior management level in the mining, public auditing and accounting, agricultural, agro-processing, pension and packaging industries. Sam is also a Non-Executive Director in a number of companies, among then Cumar Investments (Pvt) Ltd, Quepak (Pvt) Ltd, Roxton Investments (Pvt) Ltd and Africom (Pvt) Ltd. Sam also holds a BA in Business Studies (Accounting and Finance) and a Masters in Business Administration from the University of Zimbabwe.
Exodus Makumbe has 26 years working experience in different sectors of the economy.
Currently, he is the Chairman of Platinum Groupe (Pvt) Ltd, the position he assumed in 2007 on inception, and sits on various public and private boards . He is the founder of the company which is actively involved in the financial services and investments sectors in Zimbabwe. He has won several management and leadership awards in recognition of his marked contribution to banking and human development in Zimbabwe. A holder of an Msc. in Strategic Management with Derbyshire Business School, Exodus is at an advanced stage of completing a Doctorate in Finance with Swiss Management Centre of Switzerland and an LLB degree with UNISA. The Groupe benefits immensely from his vast experience in general business management and leadership.
Previously, he worked for the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe in different capacities for 11 years before leading the formation and growth of Premier Banking Corporation Limited from 2002 to 2007. The bank was later sold to Ecobank, a regional commercial bank operating in many African Countries.
Cletus is the Director of Business Development of Global Power, an infrastructure development company. His sound experience and competence in organizational leadership, policy and strategy formulation and execution, projects management, commercial contracts negotiation and execution, business development and corporate governance has benefitted the company in many ways. Cletus sits on the boards of ZB Reinsurance (Pvt) Ltd, Harare Institute of Technology and ZESA Pension Fund. Previously, Cletus worked as the Executive Director (Group Operations) at ZESA Holdings, Managing Director (Powertel Communications), Grid Assets Manager (ZESA), Regional Transmission Engineer (ZESA), Risk Engineering Surveyor (ZIMRE). He is a fellow of Zimbabwe Institution of Engineers, a Senior Member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers, and a member of South African Institute of Electrical Engineers. Cletus’s academic qualifications include a Masters of Business Administration Degree and a BSc Engineering (Honours) Degree in Power and Electronic Engineering, both from the University of Zimbabwe.
CASSIUS GAMBINGA, CA (Z)
Cassius is the Finance Director at Infrastructure Development Bank of Zimbabwe. Cassius has more than 15 years experience in business management at top level in manufacturing and banking sectors and the business stands to benefit from his vast experience in management development, strategic planning, financial management, internal auditing and general business operations. In his career, Cassius served as an Executive Director and Chief Operating Officer for Premier Finance Group (Pvt) Ltd, Finance Director of Premier Banking Corporation (Pvt) Ltd, Divisional Finance Director for PG Industries (Pvt) Ltd, Chief Internal Auditor for Universal Merchant Bank of Zimbabwe and Finance Manager for Turnall. Cassius who is a Chartered Accountant CA (Z) holds a Bachelor of Accounting (Honours) Degree from the University of Zimbabwe and is also a Chartered Public Accountant.
ABISAI MAXIE CHINGWECHA, (FCCA)
Currently Abisai is the Group Finance Director of TS Holdings (Pvt) Ltd, the largest supplier of plastic resins, masterbatches and sythentic hair in Zimbabwe. Abisai has extensive experience in the retail and manufacturing sector having worked for several companies in the clothing, chemicals, steel, agricultural, detergents, printing and plastic industries. This useful experience brings valuable knowledge to the company. He is a Fellow of the Association of Certified Chartered Accountants (FCCA), and a Registered Public Accountant in Zimbabwe. Abisai is an Executive Director of Blue Track Investments (Pvt) Ltd, Stenhop Investments (Pvt) Ltd, and Autoflow Investments (Pvt) Ltd, and also sits as a Non-Executive Director on the Boards of several private companies. Abisai also holds a Bachelor of Accounting Science Degree (BCompt) (UNISA) and is a Certified Chartered Accountant (ACCA).
PROSPER MAPIKA, CFA
With over 10 years’ experience in the fund and investment management markets, Prosper brings valuable experience to the Platinum Groupe Board in the key area of investments management. Prosper holds a B Comm. Banking (NUST), an MSc. in Finance and Investments (NUST) and is a CFA Charter Holder, from CFA Institute of America. Prosper is a skilled investment analyst who sat in the Judges and Analysts Panel of the Fingaz Top Twenty Companies survey from 2005 to 2013. Prosper was incorporated into the pioneering Platinum Groupe Board, responsible for investment management and advisory, and is also the Managing Director for Platinum Investment Managers.
GEORGE C MADZVAMUSE
George has vast experience in the specialist areas of Corporate and Investment Banking, Fund Management, Wealth Management and Strategy, spanning over 15 years. He is a holder of a Bachelor of Accountancy (B Acc) Honours degree from the University of Zimbabwe, a Masters Degree in Strategic Management majoring in Money and Capital Markets (Chinhoyi University, Zimbabwe) and is a member of the South African Association Accountancy (SAAA) and the Instituteof Bankers Zimbabwe (IOBZ). During his stay at the National Asset Management Corporation (NAMCO) and Premier Asset Management as portfolio manager, George gained wide experience in fund and wealth management. He also worked at Premier Banking Corporation Limited as a senior manager – Corporate and Investment Banking for over three years specializing in business development, investment banking and public sector investment management. George joined Platinum at its inception in January 2010 as a Board member responsible for business development and strategy.
Progress has over 14 years of vast and diverse experience in banking and investment management covering general business management, project management, bank regulation, risk management, internal audit, human resources and financial accounting. One of the founding members of Exodus & Company (Pvt) Ltd, and Platinum Groupe, Progress was responsible for the group’s finance, information technology, operations, risk and compliance functions before he was appointed the Chief Executive Officer in March 2011. Previously, he worked for Premier Finance Group Limited, NMB Holdings Limited, Agricultural Bank of Zimbabwe, and Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe in various capacities up to executive level. He played a key role in the conversion of Premier Discount House to a Merchant Bank in 2004 and that of Agricultural Finance Corporation to a commercial bank, Agricultural Bank of Zimbabwe, in 1998.
Tonderai started his stock broking career 15 years back at Intermarket Stockbrokers (Private) Limited as a trainee dealer and subsequently qualified as a stockbroker in 2000. He holds an honors degree in Business Studies from the University of Zimbabwe, a diploma in Sales Management and Marketing and a certificate in Business and Industrial Administration. In 2003 he joined Continental Securities as its Principal Stockbroker a position he held for one year before leaving to pursue private business interests. In 2005 he joined Zimbabwe Allied Banking Group as the Principal stockbroker and was instrumental in setting up the group’s stock broking division. He became the General Manager of the stock broking unit in 2007 a position he held until August 2010 when he left to join Platinum Securities (Private) Limited as a Chief Securities Trader.
Tinashe has 12 years experience in the local financial services industry having started his career with an asset management company where he gained vast experience in the Back and Front Office Operations in both Money Market and Equities Trading. He is a holder of a First Degree in Finance with the National University of Science and Technology (Zimbabwe) and has a MSc. in Finance & Investments with the same University. He worked at Premier Finance Group Limited where he gained 5 years experience in Risk Management, manning its Bank and Asset Management arms. Having joined as an Asset and Liabilities Analyst at Premier Finance Group, he rose through the ranks to become a Market Risk Manager and ended up being the Trading Risks Manager. Tinashe joined Platinum in May 2010 in his current capacity
CHRISTOPHER MUGONA, CFA
Christopher is a Chartered Financial Analyst Charter holder who joined Platinum Securities as a stockbroker on 1 October 2019. With over 19 years of investment industry, Chris brings a wealth of experience to the group. After graduating from NUST with BComm Finance Honours degree in 1998, Chris started his career with Intermarket Southampton Asset Management as an Investment Analyst and Administrator. He then moved to the sell –side Interfin Securities (Msasa Stockbrokers) in 2000. He was instrumental in the formation of ZABG Stockbrokers in 2005 before co-founding MMC Capital in 2008. Chris is a member of the Zimbabwe Stock Exchange and currently perusing studies in actuarial science.
